Ath- bhliain faoi shéan ‘s faoi mhaise dár gcoisithe go léir– go mbainimís taitneamh agus sult as na siúlóidí atábeartaithe don bhliain atá romhainn.
Our first RTAI walk of 2026 will be on Wednesday next, 14th January in the Kiltipper / Bohernabreena area. We look forward to the usual big turn out for this walk and it is ideally suited for all abilities.
Choose the longer or shorter option of the two routes. Those who would like the longer option should meet at the car-park in Kiltipper Park. This is located at the upper end of Kiltipper Road. This car park which was extended in recent months should accommodate all cars. In the unlikely event that it is full, park at the neighbouring apartments. See the sign for Deerpark Place / Elder Heath.Car-pool if possible. We will set off from Kiltipper car-park at 10.30am and make our way through the park to exit opposite the entrance to the Bohernabreena ReservoirPark where we will join the walkers who have chosen option two, the shorter walk.
If you wish to take the shorter walk, park in the car-parkat the entrance to the waterworks in Bohernabreena. There are about 15 to 18 car spaces here so carpooling is definitely recommended. We will set off from here at 11am and walk up to and around the upper lake.
Please wear walking boots, not runners, – the circuit around the upper lake is subject to water pooling. Bring a snack.
Following the walk you may wish to drop in to have a light lunch in the café attached to the Kiltipper Woods Care Centre or in Thomas Davis GAA Clubhouse (on KiltipperRoad).
10.30 am – Kiltipper Car Park
11.00am – Bohernabreena Waterworks Car Park.
